Sun 386i

One of the oddities in my collection is the Sun 386i (aka Roadrunner). Running SunOS 4.0.1 and SunView. The system is capable of running DOS applications in individual terminal windows.

Configuration

  • Sun 386i Chassis with CG card and associated Keyboard/Mouse.
  • SCSI2SD Drive
  • 3x 8MB Memory boards – total 24MB (Yes this does work despite it not being supported)
  • 2x INMOS B008 Transputer

The two B008 ISA Cards are populated with Transputer modules called TRAM’s. Each B008 is passed through to the DOS Emulator under SunView.

I am yet to get native SunOS communication working to the B008’s.
